Equipment Model Numbers

Identification tags are located in areas unlikely to need replacement, even after years of use.

Handheld Power Equipment ID tags are normally on an aluminum portion of the engine, somewhat set into the unit to protect the label from wear. For handheld equipment, the tag is usually white and approximately 1" x 1/2" in size.  (A bar code may also be on this tag.)

For most of our power equipment, these tags are approximately 2" x 3" in size.

Riding mower tags are usually located on the underside of the seat.  Sometimes they can be found on the frame up near the engine.

For walk-behind mowers this tag is most commonly found found on the deck where the handle attaches.  It may also be on the rear door of rear discharge units, on the side, or the front of the deck housing.

Tiller model and serial tags are generally on the tine housing.

For other products like log splitterschipper shredders and edgers, tags can be found on the frame or main housing.

Engine Numbers

Note that engine numbers may be stamped into metal parts on the engine, or be located on tags affixed to the engines.

Briggs & Stratton Engines:

B&S engines all have Model, Type, and Code numbers.  We need all 3 numbers to ensure the correct parts for your engine.

Kohler Engines:

The engine identification numbers (Model, Spec, and Serial number) are on a silver decal normally affixed to the blower housing of the engine.
We need all 3 numbers to ensure the correct parts for your engine.

Tecumseh Engines:

The engine ID tag contains the engine's Model & Specification numbers.  We need both numbers to ensure the correct parts for your engine.
